Mission of the Clinical Research Forum

To provide leadership to the national clinical and
translational research enterprise and to promote
understanding and support for clinical research
and its impact on health and health care.

Future Vision

Future success for our nation's translational research will
require the development of an effective and collaborative
nation-wide clinical research enterprise. This needs to
be an integrated system, with the capacity to efficiently
translate a burgeoning pipeline of basic research into
high quality clinical care and improved health outcomes.

Strategic Directions

Direction 1:	The Clinical Research Forum will provide leadership to influence public policy, increase funding, broaden public knowledge, and expand support for all forms of clinical research nation-wide. This will be accomplished in collaboration with other major stakeholders in our nation's clinical and translational research enterprise.
Direction 2:	The Clinical Research Forum will assume a leadership role in creating and sustaining an intramural milieu within and among our Academic Health Centers in order to develop a robust culture of support and stability for clinical researchers. It will also seek new ways to enable cross-institutional scientific collaboration and ensure the recruitment and retention of our best and brightest physician scientists into the field of clinical research.
Direction 3:	The Clinical Research Forum will leverage its seniority and growing national presence as a convener to provide continuing opportunities and promote the standards for sharing best practices and debating substantive scientific and policy issues facing this field.
Direction 4:	The Clinical Research Forum will realign its organization to establish and maintain productive relationships with other societies and organizations with which it shares common goals and to sustain an effective communication interface with its members, policy makers, and regulatory officials.
